This intensive workshop based course explains the new theories of biomechanics, dispelling many of the old myths. Being Non Root based we have been able to dispense with angles, tractographs, bisection lines, numbers and all the old methods that were often found confusing. We advocate a functional, practical approach to biomechanical assessment & prescription.
- Rearfoot complex
- Medial Column
- Rearfoot and forefoot pathomechanics & assessment
- Clinical gait analysis
- Casting
- Common conditions and prescription solutions

- Clinical reasoning & prescribing
The objective following this course is that the practitioner will have the knowledge, skills and confidence to biomechanically assess their patient, quantify the prescription, clinically reason the most appropriate type of device to prescribe, cast if appropriate and develop a treatment plan looking at all modalities available.
INCLUDED IN THE COURSE
All delegates on the 2 day Basic/Intermediate PPL Biomechanical Assessment & Prescription Writing course will receive a course certificate detailing CPD points, extensive detailed course book and their own prescription platform assessment & quantification kit.
Following your attendance on a PPL course we continue to build our relationship with our practitioners by offering continuous support with telephone technical advice and inservice training where possible.

Podiatric Acupuncture Course
The course is presented by Australian Podiatrist, Shane Toohey BSc(Pod). Post Grad Dip Acupuncture. Shane has been practicing podiatry for 30 years, acupuncture for 20 years and owns an orthotics laboratory. He has also lectured on undergraduate podiatry courses in Australia for the past 12 years. Shane has presented this acupuncture workshop 30 times over the past 4 years in the UK and Australia and is now offering the course in Dublin.
The course will be in a workshop format and will be broadly conducted in five practical components. It has been designed specifically for Podatrists and will train you to use acupuncture, in various forms, in the treatment of conditions you routinely face in your clinics.
The promise of this workshop is to enable you to immediately use the skills learned in training on your first day back at your clinic. During the workshop you will be trained to combine a simplified version of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture with Myofascial Trigger Point release (dry needling) and other forms of Western Medical Acupuncture. The focus in the workshop is on the areas of acupuncture that are useful for Podiatrists and how to incorporate this with your other Podiatric skills including orthotic and manual therapies. This workshop will create a breakthrough in your clinical effectiveness and expand your practice if that is your desire.
